ADRIATIC HIGHWAY AND THE TOURIST TRADE

This paper deals with the different aspects of importance of the Adriatic highway route program-related concepts of development i.e. as viewed through Program A - construction of the Adriatic highway and Program B - complex arrangement of the existing Adriatic highway route.

The author reviews the aspects of the Adriatic route in the SER of Yugoslavia with particular reference to the preparations for its realization in the SR of Croatia.

In the section on the impacts of the Adriatic highway exhibited on the development of tourist trade the author has reiterated, while using the materials of the experts from the Economic Research Institute of Split and the experts of the Town-Planning Institute of the SR of Croatia, the basic characteristics of the development of the tourist trade with particular reference to the Adriatic region.
