THE STATUS OF YUGOSLAV RIVER SHIPPERS ON INLAND WATERWAYS IN THE EC

The author illustrates the basic conditions for sailing on the rivers Danube and Rhein, especially since the second world war. Then he shows what repercussions will occur when the soon to be finished R-M-D waterway opens and how it will effect the Yugoslav river shippers, when they sail in the EC. He shows how these shippers should prepare themselves in order to ensure a successful participation after 1992. He points out the intentions of the Rhein shippers to include themselves directly in transporting half of the goods from harbours along the Rhein and in Yugoslavia, having first confirmed the conditions and the freight.
