THE ADAPTATION OF THE YUGOSLAV RAILWAYS ACCORDING TO THE DEMANDS OF THE EC

First of all the author presents a survey of the extensive transport of the roads, railways and inland water traffic between the EC and the third-party countries and then he goes on to explain the needs to the adapt the Yugoslav Railways, arising from the situation in the EC. He emphasises the need to restructure the Yugoslav Railways in order to make it more attractive for frontier crossing traffic and at the same time to balance it with the road traffic which due to the deregulations will have an even greater possibility for expansion.
