THE ROLE OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND FACILITIES IN DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST TRADE IN THE SR OF CROATIA

The author discusses the endeavours taken towards a higher-quality assessment of tourist destinations and resort regions and more vigorous development of tourist industry, drawing reference to the required moderniaztion and construction of highways and semi-highways in four major basic traffic coridors of the SR of Croatia. In support of completion of the program, and considering the enormous funds required, the author advocates the highest possible engagement/employment of foreign capital on the part of the EC, finding the commercial arrangement in conjunction with concessions on a specified period basis the best solution.
