INTERDEPENDENT ASPECT OF TOURIST TRAVEL AND INDIVIDUAL TRANSPORT SEGMENTS IN ISTRIA

Vigorous development of tourist travel in Istria has not been followed adequately by construction of required transport infrastructure facilities. The major problem in the up-to-date and particularly future development of tourist trade refers to the condition in road traffic routes, airport facilities and inadequate capacities of telegraph and telephone communication systems. It is important that these issues have been considered properly and recognized to result in subsequent required resolution efforts. The terminal building with necessary airport facilities is in the process of completion, while the Učka Tunnel is under construction, making the first section of the Koper–Pula semi-highway route.
