TYPES AND SHAPES OF PACKING IN POSTAL TRAFFIC

Postal traffic proceeds on the national and international level. Each aspect of traffic/transport has its own regulations specifying the types and shapes of packing. The selection of packing depends upon the respective means of transportation used, length of the route covered and incidence of reloading. In addition to the earlier determined shapes of packing (i.e. containers) in postal traffic a small postal container Type I has been introduced as a modern means of mechanized operations for transportation of postal items in national/international traffic, for road/rail transport.

The container must be absolutely reliable in utilization and the coefficient of safety cannot be less than 50%. The life of this container type is estimated to the minimum 5 years.
