TRANSPORT – HINDRANCE TO DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST INDUSTRY IN BOKA KOTORSKA

This paper deals with a review of the existing traffic situation in Boka Kotorska, from the date of introduction of narrow gauge railway line back in 1901, vigorous sea transport activities in the period before and between the two wars, all the way until the construction of the Adriatic Highway, abandoning of sea-faring services and construction of the airport in Tivat and Dubrovnik. The author refers to the existing problems in road and air transport and advocates the introduction of local sea transport services in the region of the Bay as well as the provision of regular traffic links i.e. lines at least to Dubrovnik.
