METHODOLOGICAL APPROACH TO THE MODERN CONCEPT OF INFORMATION CENTER DEVELOPMENT

Increase in the number of information centers makes the most important and most recent trend in the area of computer data processing. Basically it is designed for stimulation, education and support to the end users. It has been anticipated that in the future the user himself will control the information center. The information center is from the management aspect within the management structure of a concrete association having the task to train, support and assist the end users to use the computer resources as efficiently as possible. The development of data processing can actually be divided into conventional and non-conventional (information center). Therefore the functioning of the information center depends to a great extent upon the available hardware and software resources. In addition to personnel the two represent the basis for an efficient functioning of the information center in an association. The basic issue on the mind of the managerial personnel is how to be successful. The fact is: to be able to succeed in the first place one requires the support of respective personnel, hardware and software resources. However, there are numerous reasons for failure of an information center – one of them being the expressed lack of interest on the part of managerial structures.
